The challenge
Our client bought his home off a small builder and was not sure about the quality of his new house or what to look for when it came to identifying defects and snags. He also needed help to communicate these defects to his builder in order to get any issues sorted.
Lively Professional Services undertook a detailed snagging survey of the property covering the ground floor, upstairs floors and roof space as well as external areas. Photographs of all defects were taken along with a description of the location and which trade would be assigned to fix the issue.
In total 125 defects were identified, which would have potentially cost our client thousands of pounds to fix in the future, thankfully he had opted to have a snagging survey so the defects became the builder’s responsibility to fix.
A detailed printed and electronic report was provided to the client so he could easily communicate the issues to his builder.
By having the defects listed in a professional report that could be handed to his home builder over 95% of the defects are now rectified and the customer is pleased with the outcome.
